Talking
Baseball at 96.9 FM Talk's Live Broadcast from the
Stockyard

Who knew mini-burgers
and lobster rolls would be so good for breakfast? We
were up early and eating good in Brighton for Mike
Barnicle's Hot Stove Lunch.
Along
with program regulars Bob Lobel, Hank Morse and Dan
Shaughnessy, the 2-hour live broadcast also featured
guests. Former Milton high pitcher and current
Chicago Cub Rich Hill stopped by and talked about
his off-season training regimen. Looking on was Red
Sox GM Dan Duquette.
Next
in the lineup was full-time Boston College student
and part-time sports talk radio host Luke Russert.
Luke is the son of NBC's Tim Russert, author of
Big Russ and Me. Along with his predictions for
the upcoming Red Sox season, Russert also spoke
about the current Wayne Gretzky gambling scandal

Everyone in attendance was entered
into a raffle, the winner of which will be flying down to catch a
couple Sox spring training games in Sunny Florida. Granted, it has
been a very mild winter, but Haley Booksellers was pulling hard
for those tickets - to no avail.
When not helping ourselves to the abundant and
delicious Stockyard specialties, we were selling
copies of Dan Shaughnessy's numerous books,
including Reversing the Curse and At
Fenway. Also on our table was Bill Brett's
wonderful photo book Boston, All One Family. |
