Join Us on the 3rd Tuesday of Every Month - If You Dare
Come on down to Underbones (downstairs at Redbones in Davis Square, Somerville), meet a mystery writer, and have appetizers on the house.
Murder Under Bones is a joint venture of Redbones, Kate's Mystery Books and Haley Booksellers.
Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran & the Last Great Era of Boxing
As a sports fan growing up in the Boston area in the 1980s, it was a great source of pride that Marvelous Marvin Hagler was one of our own. I remember my father (Dick Haley - the Don King of Haley Booksellers) going to watch Hagler vs. Vito "The Mosquito" Antifermo at the Garden. And Hagler's bitter (and BS) loss to Leonard in 1987 was as painful to many as Bill Buckner's mis-play the year before.
So naturally, we were very excited to host author and long-time Boston sportswriter George Kimball at McGreevy's Saloon to relive that special time in boxing history and celebrate the U.S. release of his new book, Four Kings, published by McBooks Press.
